Seasonal vs. Per-Visit Snow Removal: Which Saves You Money?
By ResiSnow · Updated October 2026 · Windsor, CT
The most common question we get after "how much does it cost" is "would I save money going seasonal?" It is a fair question — $1,395 is a real number, and nobody wants to overpay. So here is the honest math, and the one number nobody else will give you straight: the number of visits it takes for seasonal to pay off.
ResiSnow serves Windsor and East Windsor, CT only, from November through March. These numbers are our real 2026–27 prices — see the full list in our snow removal cost guide.
The break-even math, in visits
Forget trying to guess how many storms we will get this winter — nobody can predict that honestly, and we won't pretend to. Instead, divide the seasonal price by the per-visit price. That tells you how many visits it takes before seasonal breaks even:
| Package (standard driveway) | Seasonal price | Per-visit price | Break-even |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic — two visits per storm | $1,395 | $115 | ≈ 12 visits |
| Premium — three visits per storm + salting | $1,745 | $115 | ≈ 15 visits |
In plain English: on the Basic plan, if you would have called us out a dozen times over the winter, seasonal has paid for itself — every clearing after that is included. If you end up needing fewer than 12 visits' worth of service, per-visit would have been cheaper on paper.
Keep in mind that a single storm can produce multiple visits. Anything over 6 inches bills as two visits, and Premium customers get three clearings per storm day — 7 AM, 12 PM, and 5 PM — so visit counts add up faster than storm counts. A winter with a few heavy storms can push you past break-even sooner than you would expect.

Who per-visit fits
- Smaller driveways. At $115 a visit for a standard driveway (up to 4 cars deep × 2 wide), a light winter stays cheap.
- You are home most storm days and can call it in — our service trigger is 1.5 inches of snowfall, and each visit covers up to 6 inches.
- You would rather pay only when it snows. No storms, no bill.
Per-visit is the economical choice in lighter winters. One-time services are paid via Venmo, Zelle, or check — no credit cards.
Who seasonal fits
- You commute or leave early. You want the driveway clear before you are up, without making a phone call in the dark.
- You want peace of mind. One check at the start of the season (seasonal contracts are paid by check), no per-storm decisions from November through March.
- Busy winters pay you back faster. More storm days means the break-even point arrives sooner — and heavy storm weeks, where one storm can mean two billed visits at over 6 inches, add up fast.
If you are still deciding when to commit, read when to book seasonal snow removal — spots on the route are limited each season.
Two discounts worth knowing
Refer a neighbor for a per-visit service and take $10 off your next service; refer someone who signs up for the season and take $100 off. Active military and veterans get $15 off per-visit service or $150 off seasonal packages. Thank you for your service.
The honest bottom line
Count your likely visits, not the storms. Around 12 per-visit-equivalent visits, Basic seasonal breaks even; Premium adds salting and a three-clearing storm schedule, so weigh it on service as much as on math. Either way, you are dealing with a local, military family-owned crew that serves Windsor and East Windsor — and every customer gets a $5 donation on their behalf to the cancer charity of their choice. We don't just plow snow. We do it for a purpose. Call (860) 812-7669 and we will tell you straight which option fits your driveway.
